Achievement Levels

Achievement Levels

McDonalds Awards are given out to athletes periodically throughout the season as they achieve appropriate levels of performance.

The McDonald’s achievement levels are calculated from the averages of performance attained by Little Athletics Queensland athletes over the years. Upon attaining these performance levels, the athlete is eligible for an award. The various levels include:

  • Green Level – within the reach of 100% of children with little application & indicates the athlete has achieved a good level of performance.
  • Red Level – achieved by approx. 65% of children & indicates the athlete has achieved a very good level of performance.
  • Blue Level – achieved by approx. 20% of children & indicates the athlete has achieved an excellent level of performance.

To achieve a McDonald’s Achievement Award Certificate, an athlete must reach the relevant level in all events applicable to their age group in three event groups. For example an Under 12 athlete would be awarded a green certificate if they were to equal or better the green level times or distances in (1) Jumps: Long, Triple and High, (2) Sprints: 100m and 200m and (3) Throws: Discus, Javelin and Shot Put. Any event group combination can be used to meet the criteria, as long as the levels in three event groups are attained. Age groups have a varied requirement for the number of event groups to achieve an award, which include 2 groups for U6 & U7 and 3 groups for U8-U17.

The maximum number of certificates an athlete can receive each season is three – 1 Green level; 1 Red level and 1 Blue level.
